Anyone resident in New Zealand. Entrants under 18 need a parent or guardian's permission before entering.

Entries close at the time shown on the countdown clock. Late entries are not accepted.

The photograph must have been taken within 30 days of the date you enter. Shortlisted entrants will be asked for the original camera file so the capture date in its metadata can be checked. Entries outside the 30 day window are disqualified.

Round 01 is a single open category with no theme. From Round 02 onward each round carries a monthly theme and entries are judged in two separate leagues, Pro and Beginner. Entrants who earn income from automotive photography are placed in the Pro league. Elite Exposure decides league placement and its decision is final.

A donation of any amount made through the Elite Photo Comp page on Givealittle (givealittle.co.nz/fundraiser/elite-photo-comp), which pays out to the I Am Hope Foundation, with the receipt attached to your entry.

It is not a fee paid to Elite Exposure and is not refundable. Elite Exposure neither collects nor holds any entry money at any point. Givealittle deducts a platform fee before payout; Elite Exposure receives none of it.

Entries are scored on light, composition, craft and impact. Names, handles and donation amounts are removed before scoring. The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

First place: $100 NZD, cover image of the winners announcement, cover image for the following month's competition, and a physical framed certificate posted to you. Second place: $50 NZD and a tag in the winners post. Third place: $25 NZD and a tag in the winners post. Cash is paid by New Zealand bank transfer within 5 working days of winners being confirmed. No cash alternative and no transfer to another person.

Duplicate entries are removed and only the first is judged.

You must be the sole author and owner of the photo. Shortlisted entrants will be asked to supply the original RAW or unedited camera file before winners are announced. Failing to supply it, or supplying a file you did not create, disqualifies the entry.

Fully AI-generated images are ineligible. Generative fill, sky replacement and similar alterations to the subject are ineligible. Standard editing is fine.

A non-exclusive, royalty-free licence for Elite Exposure to reproduce and display your photo on this website and its social channels to promote the competition, with credit. You keep copyright and every other right. Revocable in writing at any time.

Winners are checked against Instagram @eliteexposure.nz and Facebook Elite Exposure before announcement. If you have unfollowed, the prize passes to the next placed entry.

Entry and fundraising totals shown on this site refresh hourly and are indicative only. The Givealittle page is the authoritative record of donations.

Used only to run and judge this competition and to contact you about it. Not sold and not shared with third parties. Ask us to delete them at any time.

Optional and off by default. If you tick the box you will receive occasional emails about future Elite Exposure competitions and nothing else. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe, as required by the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007. Not ticking it has no effect on your entry.

If a date or detail has to change we'll post it here and on both social channels. If the competition cannot run, donations are not refundable by Elite Exposure. They belong to the charity.
